Once I got back to the city, I made my way over to the Old Bazaar again—not so much to sightsee, but because I couldn’t stop thinking about a filigree brooch I’d seen the day before.
It had a soft pink stone—I believe rose quartz—and just enough vintage charm to tempt me. I figured I’d see if it was still there and maybe try to bargain a little with the owner.
It was.
And I bought it.
I even managed to bargain a little, which made me ridiculously pleased with myself.
The walk back also took me past all those fountains and statues I’d somehow grown rather fond of. For all my initial confusion over Skopje, I had to admit: I was kinda into it.
